23 Mar, Day 1
Our flight was at 5.55am and I didn't sleep cos of last min packing lol. We reached the airport at 4.30am, and sat down for a while to stone before checking in.
Nice lights on the flight.
Our flight had a transit at Taipei, so we got off and reboarded the same flight at e Taipei Airport. I was very tempted by all e goodies I walked past but we only had 1 hour before the flight took off and I couldn't take the risk.

We reached Sapporo at 4plus pm and I saw a great poster!
Haha, we went in search of Sim cards. We wanted to get separate Sim cards in case we get... separated lol. The mobile centre sold 5gb (30 days) for 5800y or something and eventually settled on a 1.2gb one for 3800y. Whatever to save money. Lol. The funny thing was that we kind of jammed the machine with 1500y of coins.
LOL.
And I realised that I did not bring that tiny stick to push out my Sim card for my phone. As I was digging around, I found this Keychain that RJ gave me which fell off. The clay item fell out and left this hoop here. Thank goodness the metal stick here was able to get our sim cards out of the phone. Thanks RJ.
We also visited the combini and bought 2 super nice rice rolls, tuna & mentai and cheese, they were soo good!! We were nom-ing away on the way to the train station for the train to Sapporo.
YR and C were also in Sapporo and so we arranged to meet for dinner at 8pm. When we reached Sapporo train station, it was kind of snowingggg gosh! Cold... Brr and had to find the hotel. Mega faint Loh! After much walking, we finally (and accidentally located the hotel. Hotel Livemax Sapporo, it's supposed to be Ekimae, (in front of Sapporo station) but it's actually a quite some way in front rofl.
Took some random pics cos we were so glad to find the place. Checking in was so nice and warm... I didn't take any pics of the hotel room. It was beigey colored with warm tones and came with a massage chair. Wow. I didn't take any pics so I can only pull out this person's contribution on Google. I chose LiPeiJun's photo because it best represented the real room.
We din manage to rest long enough because YR n C were on the way to our hotel lobby to meet us for dinner.
After some walking around, we entered a small eatery nearby with drinks and some light bites. There was no english menu, so everyone went, nah you studied Japanese right?! I gamely looked at menu, but I was defeated by the first page. Elementary 2 student here pls. Luckily the staff was really helpful in summarising the menu.
Everything was yummy, espppp the chahan and beer!! Lol!! We ate and went on our separate ways. YR and C's had a full day and it was our first night. They wanted to return and we wanted to explore.
I had read about Go Tsubo which sold oysters at 100. The oysters seemed amazing and I felt like I should try them even though I'm not an oyster person. Go Tsubo is located at Susukino and we walked over out in the snow. I had to take jump shots at this lane.. But...
I forgot how many times I jumped.. In the end I settled for this one
If you can't find me, just strain your eyes abit pls. Lol.
Yk and I were totally behaving like snow noobs, Lololol. We arrived in late March, and snow was starting to melt. Many parts of the ground were wet and slippery.
Must walk carefully. I am thankful that Vic and SY encouraged me to buy the grey boots I wore when we saw it on sale in HK. The rubber grip was superb for the wet slippery ground.
Along the way we saw Gindaco and had to buy one! I bought the negi one.
Finally we made our way to Go Tsubo!!
Both Yk and I were not oyster people so we just got 2 oysters from the owner.
He kindly gave us 4 oysters instead of the 2 that we ordered. Look at that, so big, fresh and juicy right?? I decided to try the first oyster without any condiment and my taste buds rebelled at the first taste of brine and oyster. The second one with lemon juice was much better and YK said that adding the soy sauce provided was really good. For oyster lovers, this is the place to go. 100y huge fresh succulent oysters pls, where to find?!

By then we were both ready to return and nurse our bellies in the hotel room. We walked back in e cold cold snow, and I just had to stop at the combini and get an ice cream.
This is so good, green tea ice cream coated with green tea almond choc, and it's got a choc filling!! Some Japanese ice creams are so multifaceted. Hahaha.
It was getting real cold and started snowing. It was kind of dark! It was about 9pm then but felt like 11plus pm.
Totally had that 'deserted city', 'end of the world' feeling.
Glad to reach the shelter and warmth of the hotel! Time to rest for a long day tomorrow!
