Bangkok Solo Trip - 30 Jun - 3 Jul 2016

You know that feeling when you come back from a holiday and realise that you did not do the 2 or 3 things that you had wanted to do because of schedule clashes or opinion/preference clashes with your travel mates? I am familiar with that feeling since I usually just go along with the flow when in a group.

So I decided to go on a solo trip to Bangkok to do ALL the things I wanted to do. Ha. Ha. Ha.

Tiger had a sale to Suvarnabhumi Airport and I immediately booked a return ticket for 30 Jun - 3 Jul, Thursday to Sunday. I chose those days since many markets in BKK are open on those days.

I wanted to stay a night at the Amphawa Floating Market, a place I had wanted to return to since the first time I was there with SY a gazillion years ago. Kanchanaburi seemed like a possibility, as well as Ayutthaya. As I researched, more options popped up and I had to promise myself another trip to BKK. Ha. Ha. Ha.

In the end, I decided on the below itinerary:

Day 1 - Thursday 30 Jun 2016
Pad thai at Sala Daeng for brekkie
Check in at Glow Trinity Silom
Take the river taxi to Thewet to Krua Apsorn for lunch
Dinso/Thanon Mahanop exploration (did not explore anything though)
Movie & Mango Tango

Day 2 - Friday 1 Jul 2016
Silom Thai Cooking School
Yunomori Onsen (did not make it there though...)
Sukhumvit exploration
Dinner@Endo sushi

Day 3 - Saturday 2 Jul 2016
Part 1
Part 2
Ayutthaya
Dinner
Chinatown
Pat Pong Night Market

Day 4 - Sunday 3 Jul 2016
Jok Prince
Lunch@Chakrabongse
Big C & Central World
5pm leave for airport

I always stay at Pratunam, so this time I wanted to stay somewhere different. It would also push me to explore new areas. I chose Silom since it is connected via MRT and BTS. It would also be convenient to travel to Hua Lamphong when I make the trip to Ayutthaya. While searching for hotel options, I came across Glow Trinity @Silom. It was conveniently located near Chong Nongsi BTS, had gym n swimming pool. Sadly, I did not use the hotel facilities at all cos I was so tired everyday. I also realised that it would be more convenient for me if I had chosen a hotel nearer to Sala Daeng, since the MRT station is much nearer to Sala Daeng BTS.
