The wait staff at Lola were nice, kind and engaged. I liked them. We ordered the Honey Paprika Crispy Wings, Nacho Cheese Fries, Bacon & Mushroom Truffle Cream Pasta and and Spicy Swimmer Crab Tomato pasta.
The honey paprika wings ($10) arrived first and I hastily snapped a picture. It was real crispy and tender but i found it a little too sweet for my liking. I know... It's honey... But... It's me.. It's not the wings... It's me....
Lola's fries ($8) were bimbo fries - slim cut, pretty with not much content (lol). The bimbo fries were great because they kept the dish light and complemented the heavier load of yummy nacho cheese really well.
The crab pasta ($15) came with a spicy tomato base and quite a generous topping of crab. I have to say the spiciness does pack abit of punch. Other than that, it was alright.
This pasta (also $15) packed a punch as well. It was not a spicy punch, but a wowzer truffle punch. I quite liked this one, it was not overly creamy and had a pretty good truffle taste. Bacon, truffle and mushrooms are indeed good friends. I know.. Truffle is mushroom.. But, same same but different.... You know la..
A matcha sesame tart and honey apple cake with vanilla ice cream ($7). My sisters liked the tart and I liked the apple cake. I'm terribly partial to baked apple stuff and apple desserts. Apple and cinnamon are like Liang Shan Bo & Zhu Ying Tai.
The matcha latte was most outstanding. I would return for the matcha latte and perhaps try the desserts and brunch another time. It was a happy atmosphere, reasonably priced especially with good portions and pretty yummy food. I enjoyed this meal with my sisters ^^ *Heart!*
