Machida Shoten @ Japan Food Town

Machida Shoten welcomed us with lots of enthusiasm! It reminded me of the classic ramen enthusiasm, for lack of better words. Haha. Machida Shoten serves Yokohama style iekei ramen which has thick, greasy, pork flavoured broth and yellow noodles.

I ordered the Tonkotsu Shio with an egg and one piece of chasu. You can customise your ramen and as usual, I went with medium for everything. My ramen arrived topped with an egg, seaweed, spinach and one piece of chasu.

The broth is thick and had a very strong meaty flavour. When I took a first sip, the flavour was like.. Booms! Creamy meat, meat, pork. The noodles were yellow and thick. They kind of reminded me of the chinese style yellow egg noodle without the 'gee' taste. They had a good bite!

My mistake was putting a dollop of chilli into my ramen because the chilli was crazy salty and I just could not finish the ramen. Yea I know, why eat ramen when you can't stand too much salt or MSG?! Well, I just love it!! And there are ramen places which do not give me a bad reaction even when I finish the soup, so there.

Machida Shoten's soup was super thick and tasty but my friends and I walked off with a gelat feeling that lasted the whole day. There are many good reviews of this ramen but it is unlikely that I will return because my palate cannot make friends with this ramen.
