Beef Kway Teow @ Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow (Hougang St 21)

Saturday afternoons are my favourite time to look for food. I always exit class feeling hungry and ready to eat. Today I thought I'll see what the coffee shop at Blk 203 has to offer. I always had a vague impression there was something that's pretty good at that coffee shop but never took a look.

As I walked in, I saw a queue in front of Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow and I joined the queue. 


I ordered the dry version so I could try both the soup and the thick sauce. I was really anticipating it!! 


I always feel excited to drink soup / gravy that's this dark in colour lol! The soup was cloudy, sweet and peppery. I drank it all up (noticed that I was quite thirsty after).

The gravy was rich, and not too starchy. It was also abit herbal-ly which I liked. I was really happy with the beef slices! Why so tender?!?! (look at the tender beef slices below!!!!)


Other than the usual chilli sauce, you can dip your beef in a sort of relish made with onions and chinchalok. Nice Lei. 

This beef noodle agrees with my palate. Definitely the place for my beef noodle fix! 我喜欢!
