Hong Kong Family Trip 20 - 23 Oct 2016 Day 4 - Hong Kong Heritage Museum / Tai Cheong Bakery

This is the last day of our trip! We had time in the morning (or so I thought) and decided to make a trip to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum at Sha Tin. The HK Heritage Museum showcases history, art and culture.

Check out the general attitude towards my incessant photography in the morning.

We got off at Che Kung Temple Station (Exit 2A) and met 2 cuties on the way to the museum.

We had to cross the Shing Mun river to get to the museum and I just had to take the view on either side.

Finally!! 

There are 12 exhibition halls in this museum. We only visited 3: Chao Shao An Gallery (no pics), Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall:

and one of the highlights of the Heritage Museum: the Bruce Lee - Kung Fu, Art, Life exhibition.

There's an app you can download for the Bruce Lee exhibition and with it, you can have your pic taken with Bruce Lee.

LOL. I really enjoyed the exhibition. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we had to rush to Central for lunch. We had planned to lunch at Yat Lok but when we reached, the crowd was like.....

We decided to pack some food away so as to return to the apt for check out. Before we rushed off, had to take this picture:

Annnd it was back to apartment, pack pack rush rush. We got an Uber to transport us to the airport. That was a high-stress endeavor because both Da Jie and I totally depleted our data (reckless streaming thinking we would never use up all e data)  and could only get the Uber with the apartment wifi and the road in front of the apartment isn't exactly the most parking /Uber friendly. The apt was also totally the young n dangerous type of apt:

In any case, I booked the Uber and ran downstairs, with totally no data, getting ready for a h*ll of a hard time locating the driver. But, luck was on our side, and I sighted the Uber almost immediately. And as I walked towards the Uber, everyone came down with all the barang barang. I was like... Omgggg.. Light shine on ussss... Yehhh, so we all bundled into the Uber and off towards the airport. (BTW side note: all the Ubers that we booked in HK were huge comfy big cars, v niceeee)  

The sun was setting as we cruised towards the airport.

Beautiful!! 

Reached airport in good time, boarded plane safely and here's one of my fav things on the plane. Lolol. 

Bye bye HK, back to Sg! 

Hong Kong Family Trip 20-23 Oct 2016 Day 3 - One Dim Sum / Causeway Bay / Ichiran Ramen

We started off the morning with One Dimsum near the Prince Edward Station. One Dimsum was awarded a michelin 1-star in 2012 and is a popular dim sum spot. When we reached, there was a pretty long queue.

Since we had abit of time, yk n dj stayed to queue while mummy daddy and I went to visit the flower market nearby. 

I'm not sure what kind of bulbs these were but quite interesting. We even saw a mini apple tree! Hope it's real....

We din walk far before we were summoned back to One Dim Sum by the sisters. The queue moved relatively fast that day. After we ordered the food, time to eat!! We were hungry and I couldn't really stop to take photos since I was too busy holding my chopsticks. Here are some random pics of the yums dim sum.

One Dimsum serves high quality dim sum at an affordable price (hk standard). Will always pay a visit to this place when visiting HK.

Today was Causeway Bay Uniqlo day, so we made a move to CWB via the MTR again.

I had planned for us to visit a market via the tram but the idea was shot down, so shopping it was! Daddy got a pair of jeans, and we hung around waiting for it to be altered.

After we collected the jeans, time for eating!!! Since we were at Causeway Bay, we definitely have to eat Ichiran!!

Ichiran!!! Seriously, Ichiran's soup is yummyyy. Mummy and Daddy both agreed Ichiran rocks. 

After Ichiran, it was finally.. My ding ding ride! The tram which I wanted to ride on for a while. But unexpectedly the tram was sooo crowded and the sun was like shining down on us... So we gave up and proceeded towards the MTR. Lol. My ding ding ride ended even before it started. 

We were all tired so we packed some food and made our way back to the apartment. Mum was tired and grouchy and so was I. Think we weren't really polite to each other while packing food back. I got some noodles from Good Hope... I don't think I remember how they tasted like since they were forgettable. After dinner.. Concussion!! 

Hong Kong Family Trip Day 4 - Hong Kong Heritage Museum

Hong Kong Family Trip 20-23 Oct 2016 Day 2 - Typhoon 8 / Breakfast / Supermarket / TST

We woke up this morning to Typhoon signal 8 and lost all drive to go out. We were expecting torrential rain and wind that would blow the windows in. We faced with the prospect of being stuck in a tiny airbnb apartment for the whole day, especially the day we planned to visit the Dragon's Back :(. All seemed bleak. Marmee & Daddy (actually I think it was more Marmee) wanted to go out for a walk to check things out and we were all against it. I mean, it's Typhoon 8!!!

But as time passed, we didn't catch any torrential rain and so I went out with the parents for brekkie and recee. The streets were deserted and moat shops were closed with the exception of an enterprising few. We first headed to a nearby supermarket to browse and stock up.

I love supermarkets and always want to buy new stuff I see. This time, I saw a chilled packet of instant Ajisen Ramen and ramen versions of 出前一丁 (Chu Qian Yi Ding) . I HAD to buy them. 

After we happily paid for the purchases, we went off for brekkie at a 24hr can teng that had yummy looking soya bean milk with 油条 (fried dough fritters) DJ and YK were both too happy nua-ing back at the apartment so we agreed to buy food back for them.

The breakfast highlight for me was definitely the crispy 油条(fried dough fritter) dipped in the hot soya bean milk. The combination of sweet and salty was deeply satisfying. *Heart* I ate till I was super stuffed, so I decided to take a walk around while the parents brought food back for the sisters. 

This was Mongkok that day. 

You tell me can go where? Of cos go... 

Hahaha... We first visited Jenny Bakery and bought so many tins of biscuits for the friends and family that we had to return to the apartment to put them down. Daddy took the chance to stay in while we went back out to check if Uniqlo was open. At the train station...

LOL. 

Uniqlo wasn't open... As well as almost every shop at Harbourcity...

Since we were stuck at Harborcity, we thought we would visit the area around ave of stars to experience the wind. So we geared up! 

As we approached the area near the harbour, the wind was really strong! I was really amazed by the strength of each gust of wind blasting past us right in front of this traffic junction towards the bay front. Check out the trees in the pic. 

And some guy suddenly sprinted past barefoot and in nothing but a sexy pair of shorts. Like Woooot?! 

I was so surprised that I only managed to snap his back view. Oh well... We distracted ourselves by taking pictures of us being blasted by the wind. 

I am not the focus of this photo, even though I lost my balance after a strong blast. The highlight of this photo is the umbrella of the man behind me. Just check out the force of the wind!! (and the strength of his umbrella)

Mummy being cute the way she is. Mummy's raincoat was the filmsy type. When the wind blew, she just looked like a mini baymax. ROFL.

The wind was not blowing continuously but came in great gusts. People were standing around waiting for the gusts. Apparently gust waiting made for great dates, haha couples were having fun in couple rain gear. As a side note, Da jie's poncho's really nice. Lol.

We had to get going since it was getting late and we had to pack dinner for daddy who was happily louging in the apartment. So off we went, and I thought they looked like some lord of the gamblers or cool anime characters walking down this stretch, amidst the broken brollies. ROFL.

We bought some dinner and crowded back into the small apartment to eat. That was a pretty yummy and fun dinner. YK chose this resturant with really cheap fishball noodles. This was Goood. Soft kway teow, lots of fishballs/cakes, good soup with little msg. 

This was from Aberdeen Fishball Noodle. It's pork knuckle noodle and I can't really recall how it tasted. 

The winner of the meal was actually this yummy chicken rice from Aberdeen Fishball Noodles. Ok, chicken rice from a fishball noodle shop?? You may raise your eyebrow, but you just got to try it lol. Everything was well executed. The chicken was tender, rice fragrant with a gingerish zest and heck, even the egg was naise. 

And with happy and contented bellies, we went on into lala landddd!
