To start off this day, I decided to wear the socks that Socks gave me for Xmas. Cute right?
YK wanted sushi this morning, and found Katsu Midori Kaiten sushi located on the 8th floor of Seibu Dept Store at Ikebukuro. It opens at 11am. When we reached the place, it was 11.58am and the queue was long!
The queue moved pretty fast though, we got in at 12.30pm.
At Katsu Midori, sushi is served on a conveyor belt and I loved the way they introduced the sushi! It seemed like I was at a festival and the various sushi delegations were parading in front of me.

The servings were huge and fresh, and for the price... So worth it.. Prices start from 100y and the most expensive plate is 500y. You can get maguro, eggplant, inari for 100y; unagi, sake, hamachi etc for 130y (what!!) and a super thick anago for 500y
As you can see, Yk and I totally over ordered and nearly died stuffing our faces and the bill came up to not more than 3000y (What!!)
I need to visit Katsu Midori again.
I was thirsty and got a healthy drink to help with my digestion. It doesn't taste nice, that's how you know it's healthy.
Onward to Shibuya!
YK's main shopping goal was to get a pair of black nmds which we managed to locate in an Adidas store after hopping in and out a dozen shoe shops and Adidas stores. These nmds are so popular, and I can't really appreciate it since I'm like a slipper person.
At this particular store, we were informed they were out of nmds, but all of a sudden the shop assistant approached us and shared that she found 2 pairs of our size in storage. We grabbed the shoes and I tried on a pair. They looked nice!
I wasn't sure it I should get these, but then I overheard a shopper ask the shop assistant for nmds, gesturing at the shoes that were on my feet. The shop assistant told him that it was the last pair and I was like.. OKAY, I have to get it. This pair is MINE.
Haha, totally swept up in the hype.

We continued walking around for a while more before slowly strolling over to Harajuku to visit the huge Daiso and to eat a crepe. On the way, we passed a public loo and I was amused by the English wording haha.
We reached Harajuku at about 5pm and it's crowded with youngsters:

Haha, apparently these sponges are really effective. We had to buy 5 of these sponges for the mom and I snapped a pic of these amusing toilet shaped water guns.
After Daiso, we walked towards the crepes! I bought one quite unwillingly when I came here with RJ last year because I'm not a sweets/crepe fan. But I had noticed there were various non dessert options and got a salad /veggie crepe. It was really good and I enjoyed it then. I was looking forward to eating it again. Along the way, we spotted people eating these huge cones of candy floss. Super pretty but essentially just sugar.

It was good, but the memory of eating it at the side near the toilet, wet floor, drizzle and all, it wasn't as pleasant as I would have liked it to be.. Lol
By then the sky was getting dark and the shops were starting to close. I spotted this restaurant, laksa in the middle of Harajuku lol. We were too full to eat rice and noodles but I had to take a pic.
It's got Laksa, Chicken rice and Kaya toast in the menu. Hope it's doing well!
By then, it was getting dark and the shops were starting to close. We decided to make our way to the train station but came across Pablo. We had to enter to rest our weary feet and grab one or two cheese tarts.
Honestly not a big Pablo fan no matter what others say. It's too 'gelat' for me. But we had a good rest in the cafe because our feet were totally coming off our ankles. After a long while, we pushed on back to Ikebukuro. Ikebukuro Station is connected to 2 big department stores; Tobu and Seibu, with exciting food halls that had great discounts at e end of each day. We got some yakitori for a late night snack. #fatdieus
Checked out various food and drink options while walking back to the airbnb. 200y drinks! Omg.
Ikebukuro has abit of an Otaku scene, though I'm not sure if that's the reason for the below busker's attire. The audience seemed to enjoy the cute performance though. ^^
To top off our snackersion, we got 2 burgers from Mos Burger. I wasn't that keen because we had already eaten alot, but hey when in Japan, eat Mos Burger.
Late Night Snack: Ringo (love Ringo), Mos Burgers, yakitori from Seibu and strawberries from the supermarket.
